| Aeromexico Connect came into being on November 27, 2007., but was originally launched in 1991 with the name Aerolitoral. |
Aerolitoral was the result of a fusion between Servicios Aéreos Litoral and Aerovías de Poniente, both subsidiaries of Aeromexico, and operated a fleet of 27 Fairchild Metro III/23 aircraft.
Its operational base and headquarters remain at Monterrey International Airport, Nuevo Leon., but nowadays Aeromexico Connect also has operating bases in Mexico City International Airport and Guadalajara International Airport .
The company fleet has changed entirely. In 2004, it received delivery of its first Embraer aircraft, the ERJ-145, of which it now has 28. Also part of the fleet are 7 SAAB 340B.
In 2006, the company was awarded the Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification by the International Air Transport Association (I.A.T.A.), awarding recognition to the airline's efforts regarding its operational management and control systems.
Expanding the fleet in 2008, the company once again chose Embraer, this time 4 EMB-190 aircraft, meaning more passengers per plane and the opportunity to offer first-class services.
This new expansion in its fleet came at the same time as the change, so now Aeromexico Connect can offer no less than 285 domestic flights per day, the most by any Mexican airline.
Calling itself the 'Airline of Convenience,' Aeromexico Connect now offers a total of 37 Mexican destinations and 7 in the United States of America - USA (see below), mainly in charter services.
