The National Airport of Uruapan, 'General y Lic. Ignacio López Rayón,' has been part of the ASA Airport Network since 1970; offers services between 07:00 & 19:00 hours and receives aircraft up to the sizes of the B-737 & A320, among others.

This airport is actually in the city and has a surface area of almost 264 hectares. Its commercial aviation platform covers 15,652 m2 and the general aviation some 13,000 m2; they offer 3 & 38 posiciones, respectively.

As part of the rehabilitation program carried out on the operational areas of the ASA Network, the airport's commercial platform was rehabilitated in 2001/02. Also in 2002, horizontal lighting was installed for the runway, taxiways and platforms.

The rehabilitation of the general aviation platform was done in 2004 and, in 2005/6, the terminal was enlarged; the first part of the programmed works in store.

It handled 150,047 passengers in 2006; operations numbered 7,567.

Visitors are offered restaurants, commercial outlets, money-exchange services, as well as parking for up to 100 vehicles and terrestrial transport.
