The International Airport of Loreto forms part of the ASA Network; operating hours are from 07:00 to 19:00 daily and the largest aircraft it can receive is the B-737-200.

This airport lies just 5 kms. from Loreto and was incorporated into the ASA Network in 1974, it's classified as an international airport and the majority of arrivals are for touristic motives.

It has a surface area of 198 hectares (approx.) and a commercial platform of 16,200 square metres, exactly the same as its general aviation platform, which offer 3 & 24 positions, respectively.

Among works recently carried out at the airport within the rehabilitation program of the ASA Network, between 2001 & 2005, the renewal of the horizontal signalling was of great importance (2001).

Also important was the construction of a dangerous residue storage facility (2003) the substitution of the lighting facilities and the recovering of the runway, taxiways and platforms in 2004.

The airport's terminal covers an area of 1,250 m2 and has the capacity to handle 160 passengers per hour. In 2006, it handled almost 80,000 passengers and carried out a total of 7,629 operations.
