The National Airport of Colima was incorporated into the ASA Network in 1987; offers services between 07:00 and 19:00 hrs. and can recieve aircraft up to and including the size of the B-727-200.
Also known as the “Lic. Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado,” the airport lies 22 kms. from the state capital: Colima. Services include parking facilities (78 cars), car rental and terrestrial transport.
Between 2001 and 2006, there were many improvements made to this airport. Elevators were installed at the terminal, allowing access to the disabled: the commercial aviation platform along with the taxiways, were recarpeted and, in 2006, horizontal signalling was installed.
Maximum passenger capacity per hour is currently 177; in 2006 the airport registered 5,207 operations bringing a total of 101,634 passengers to the airport.
