The International Airport of Acapulco "General Juan N. Álvarez," is located 15 kilometres from the city, 30 minutes along the scenic highway.

This airport, along with a further 12, is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte, S.A. de C.V., which in total handled 10.5 million passengers last year.

According to the company's figures, last year, Acapulco's airport handled 856,654 passengers, through a total of 23,288 operations, of which it can carry out 40 per hour.

For every ten passengers received, 6 were national, 2 international and 2 arrived on charters.
