The names of the recreation sites fall of the tongue as easy as water over a waterfall. Any of the names signify interest for personal or non-personal reasons to experience nature in the canyons, deserts, peaks, mountain ranges, lakes, rivers, cities, museums, walks, parks, forests, golf courses or archeological ruins.
Archeological sites such as those of Paquimé, in the region of Casas Grandes, Madera, was discovered in the year 1565, and covers an area of 50 hectares, which have still not been totally explored, and whose destruction took place around the year 1340, when the ruins were burned and then abandoned, but still didn't manage to destroy their hallmark of splendor.
A land of history and nobility, Chihuahua bases its progress in the temple of its people, men and women who have gained prosperity through their hard work and their willingness to take on responsibility.
Another of the surprises awaiting you in Chihuahua is the Chihuahua-Pacific railway service that offers the visitor the opportunity to visit the natural marvel of the Barrancas del Cobre (Copper Canyon), stopping off at Cuauhtémoc, Creel, Divisadero, Barrancas, Bahuichivo, El Fuerte and Los Mochis. |
Just like an area of magic, outside normal space and time, full of legends and mysteries, is the Zone of Silence, in the vertex that forms the States of Chihuahua, Coahuila and Durango, under the vigilant watch of the famous peaks known as Las Tetas de Juana (The Breasts of Juana).
The Zone of Silence, which includes San Juan del Centro and what was once the Hacienda de Mohovano, is close to Parallel 27. It is a desertic region in which the Hertz wavelengths, over much of the area, are non-existent, for which reason the absence of sound is practically absolute, thus providing the name for the area.
In this zone, known as the Chupadero , the remains of meteorites have been found, one of which, weighing 14 tons, was transferred to the old Architectural School of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Once upon a time, this whole area was a large sea and for this reason many petrified fossils of sea life are found in the region with an estimated age of 60 million years. |
